############################################################################## # All the files below were contributed by Ralph Hopkins ############################################################################## BASIC-CPM.COM is "NS" BASIC compiler. To run BASIC-CPM FOO.BAS This produces FOO.INT. This must be run via the interpreter. RUN-COM FOO On "DSK-CPM1.SVN" he called it BASIC-E. I think this is right. -------- BASIC.COM is TAD Enterprises conversion of Extended Cassette BASIC from PT to CP/M. TAD calls it BASIC15. SAVE FOO/1 to save FOO.ECB on drive A GET BAR/2 to load BAR.ECB from drive B They also have a program MODPG to convert BASIC/5 to CP/M. DSK-D-BS5.SVN contains that CP/M-d BASIC/5. (I copied it into this dir as BASIC5-COM.ENT too) -------- ADUMP-COM.ENT is probably just a warm-over of don van dykes ascii memory dumper. It dumps to the SOLOS command line, whereupon you could type "EX 100 300 400". AEXAM-COM.ENT starts works, but it isn't too useful. You can view 1KB of RAM. I don't know which keystroke to gets it to advance. ASM-COM.NET is CP/M ASSEMBLER - VER 1.4 ASTER-COM.ENT is ASTEROID by Jim Blomgren. It works, it even returns back to the CP/M prompt. BOOT-COM.ENT -- some type of boot loader program. When run it gives some directions on what to do next. CU-COM.ENT. I think the source might be in the ALS directory. Just crashes out to to a SOLOS prompt. You can type EX 100, but it is expecting other parameters. DBG8-COM.ENT appears to be a Z80 program (debugger hits 0x20 instruction) DDT-COM.ENT invokes DDT VERS 1.4 (same as I already have). DDTNULL-COM.ENT doesn't do anything I can tell. DEFLECT-COM.ENT is DEFLECT. It works, it even returns back to the CP/M prompt. DMP-COM.ENT doesn't do anything useful that I can tell. DUMP-COM.ENT is the standard dump program DUMP A:FOO.BAZ prints the file out in hex. DUMP-com-A10.ENT runs and says CP/M DUMP UTILITY VERS 1.3 COPYRIGHT 1978 BY S. J. SINGER * (this is the prompt) enter a disk filename and it dumps it in hex and ascii. CTRL-C quits. ED-COM.ENT is some editor. You must supply a filename (a new name is ok, and presumably and old one too) "*" is the prompt. I starts inputting. CTRL-Z ends input. E quits This seems like but isn't the same as the standard "ED.COM". EDIT-COM.ENT just dumps out to the solos prompt. EDITX-COM.ENT is "The Magic Wand (tm) Text Editor - Release 1.1" EDIT16-COM.ENT requires an existing filename at the command line. It prints some information about the specified file. A wildcard can be used. I'm not sure why it is called "ED". EXAM-COM.ENT is version 3.1 from the CPMUG library. It assumes 128 bytes per sector and 26 sectors per track. The sector number starts at 01. The track number starts at 00. + goes to the next sector - goes to the previous sector s or S followed by two digits jumps to a sector t or T followed by two digits jumps to a track d or D followed by two digits jumps to a drive Q quits. FIX-COM.ENT just crashes and goes to the SOLOS prompt. HANGMAN-COM.ENT returns to the SOLOS prompt. But you can type "EX 100" to play hangman. The MODE key quits back to the SOLOS prompt. -------- INIT-COM.ENT ** VISTA DISK INITIALIZATION PROGRAM VER 1.43 ** WHICH DISK?(A-D) I typed "B" but the debugger came up on a Z80 instruction. LIFE-COM.ENT crashed and hung. LOAD-COM.ENT is probably just the standard LOAD.COM program. MCHESS-COM.ENT worked by loading in backdoor then doingn "go.com". MICROCHESS (C) 1977 WRITTEN BY: P.JENNINGS & T. O'BRIEN. MODPG-COM.ENT is part of TAD Enterprises BASIC/5 to CP/M conversion product. MSABASIC-COM.ENT just seems to crash to the prompt. Typing "EX 100" starts it up. It goes through the prompts of asking CORE ALLOCATION?, LINE LENGTH? TRIGONOMETRIC FUNCTIONS? but then hangs. MTEST-COM.ENT is some kind of memory test.o PACK-ENT.COM is part of the PT EDIT package. It seems to work. PATTERN-COM.ENT is the PT PTRN program. It runs. Hitting ESC dumps back to SOLOS. Type "EX 0" to get back to CP/M. PILOT-COM.ENT is 8080 PILOT 2.2 (MOD 000) Copyright (C) 1978 Processor Technology Corp. BYE drops back to SOLOS, but you have to do a full reboot (EX E800) of CP/M. PIP-COM.ENT is the standard CP/M PIP program. PRINT-COM.ENT is CP/M PRINT UTILITY V80.0 6 MAR 80 Specify a filename on the command line, it prompts you to enter the disk and it dumps it all to the screen. I don't know why TYPE doesn't suffice. PRNT-COM.ENT is presumably a print driver of some kind. QUBIC-COM.ENT just bombs to SOLOS. QUBIK-COM.ENT does the same. RUN-COM.ENT is the intepreter for NS BASIC (BASIC-COM.ENT in the same directory). SDUMP-COM.ENT takes a filename echos it verbatim to the screen. Or something. It hung for me. SHL-COM.ENT and SHR-COM.ENT are binaries from Ralph Hopkins libraries. I don't know what they do in this packaged form. SOFT1-COM.ENT is presumably P.T.'s SOFTWARE PACKAGE #1, but when I try and run it, it dumps out to SOLOS again. STAT-COM.ENT is some version of that CP/M STAT utility. it doesn't seem to work for me and has a different report than the normal stat, so perhaps it is a version particular to vista-vos cp/m. SUBMIT-COM.ENT is some verson of the CP/M SUBMIT utility. SYSGEN-COM.ENT is **VISTA SYSGEN PROGRAM VER 1.43 ** However, it apparently is a Z80 program since the debugger hits a 0x20 opcode (JR). TARGET-COM.ENT is the classic TARGET video game. When you quit out of the program, it dumps you back to SOLOS. TE-COM.ENT is a terminal emulator. SOL-20 AND VISA V-200 CP/M TERMINAL EMULATOR. TREK80-COM.ENT is the PT Star Trek game, but it seems to just crash to the SOLOS command line. Typing "EX 0" gets the program running. UNPACK-COM.ENT runs the UNPACK program that was part of the EDIT package, but when run, it reports "CHECKSUM TEST FAILED, STRIKE ANY KEY". It is a tape to tape utility anyway. VERIFY-COM.ENT is ** DISK VERIFY UTILITY VER. 1.43 ** This is is part of VISTA-VOS CP/M, but apparently it is a Z80 ZING-COM.ENT is the PT ZING program. However, to play it you need to have a special parallel port game adaptor.
